SOUTHWEST GREENS INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF ARNOLD PALMER SIGNATURE DRIVING RANGE AT THE TOP OF THE ROCK GOLF COURSE AT BIG CEDAR LODGE
Southwest Greens International along with parent company Shaw Industries, announced completion of the massive Top of The Rock golf course at Cedar Lodge in New Mexico. The Arnold Palmer synthetic grass driving range took seven years to complete from demolition to reconstruction under the direction of Southwest Green New Mexico’s Scott Forster. Collaborative efforts include Robert Cordova of Golf Course Shapers International.
The largest of its kind in the United States, the artificial turf range includes sixteen synthetic target greens and five specially constructed ponds to allow for range pickers to retrieve balls. The bunker turf was designed to hold slope with Southwest Greens exclusive Golden Bear synthetic lawn turf to achieve realistic, well performing fringe. Synthetic teeing areas are laid in an arc; the smallest being 23’ deep and 300’ wide.
SIXTEEN ACRES ARE COVERED WITH ARTIFICIAL GRASS, ALLOWING THE RANGE TO OPERATE WITHOUT MOWERS, MINIMAL WATER USE AND MAINTENANCE TO ASSURE MAXIMUM PLAYABILITY.
Kept under wraps through the duration of the project, Top of the Rock is an immense project and required extensive construction and planning throughout. Players will enjoy this amenity adjoining the Cedar Lodge facility, twenty miles outside of Branson, MO.
